Kayla Danaye
"With the stylistic expressions of color and texture braided into the story telling traditions of the low country, The act of painting and creating transformed into advocacy inspired by the desire to emphasize the beauty, humanity and diversity in the experiences of Black women. While exploring my identity and the echos of my own trauma and its impact in my life I honor the nuances of my existence by creating a deeper narrative in efforts to give visibility to the intersection that is black womenhood."-
