Kayla Grayson, B.F.A.
Kayla Grayson is a Multi-Disciplinary artist born and raised in Beaufort, SC, the area lovingly referred to as "The Lowcountry". Grayson is a graduate of the illustrious Savannah State University in Savannah, GA. Grayson utilizes her interest in culture and identity by examining commonalities in cultural development throughout the African diaspora with the pointed aim of highlighting the beauty of black bodies and black culture alike. Grayson finds the media, literature, and historical references to be her main sources of inspiration. She uses her art to express the challenge of political and societal issues embedded in the Black experience.
